Marshall, IL Adda Mae Stepp, 93, of Marshall, IL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 8, 2014 in Meadows Manor North at Terre Haute, IN.
She was born Nov. 14, 1920, the daughter of Wm. H. and Blanche Porter Guthrie at Trinity Springs, IN. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to anyone she met.
Adda Mae accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and became a member of the Scotland United Methodist Church on April 6, 1952. She was a member and served as the first vice president of the VFW Auxiliary of Post #5975 of Marshall and was a past member of the Burnsides Guild. Adda Mae retired after working for more than 40 years as an Engineering Secretary at TRW Industries. She loved spending time with family and most importantly reading her Bible. Adda Mae married the love of her life, Don Stepp, who preceded her in death on July 25, 1974.
They were blessed with two children, daughter Julia Ann and a son, James Michael. Adda Mae not only was preceded in death by her loving husband and parents, but also her daughter, Julia Ann; her son-in-law, Bob Dorman; grandson, Albert House; great grandson, Christopher Shane Dorman; sisters, Mary Chance and Martha Boesch; two brothers-in-law, Bill Chance and Mike Boesche and her brother, James "Big Jim" Guthrie.
She is survived by her beloved son, Jim (Kay) Stepp; grandsons, Harvey Dorman and Jon (Melinda) Dorman; eight great grandchildren and two sister-in-laws, Jane Stepp of Marshall and Leona Stepp of Michigan.
Private graveside services will be held in the Marshall Cemetery with Rev. David Deal officiating. There will be no visitation.
