Anna B. Cooper, 80, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:15 PM Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 in the Burnsides Community Health Center at Marshall. She was born Jan. 26, 1937 in Marshall, IL. Following her graduation from Marshal High School in 1955 she started a career with GTE in Marshall, later transferring to the Terre Haute office where she retired in 1990. Surviving are two sisters, Eleanor I. Cooper Macke and Colleen Kallansa Lee both of Marshall; nephews, Scott (Robin) Macke and son, Eric (Emily) Macke and their children, Everly Macke, Waylon Macke and Brooke Jones and her son, Carter; Steve Lee and his daughter, Mariah and Ron Lee and a special cousin, Don W. (Jan) Smitley of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadine Carter Kallansa; her step-father, Charles A. Kallansa and a brother, Charles R. Kallansa. Anna B. was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Following her retirement from GTE, she worked for a short period at Charles Industries at Casey, IL. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Marshall Cemetery with her cousin Don W. Smitley as speaker. Visitation will be after 12 Noon Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home.
