Barbara Ann Wright Martin, 88, of Marshall, IL passed away 11:50 AM, Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013 at Providence Health Care, Saint Mary0of-theWoods, IN. Barbara was born at Paris, IL, the daughter of Art and Opal Wright. She was the oldest of three sisters. Barbara attended MacMurray College and earned her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. She married the lover of her life, Paul Martin on July 19, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2002. She was active in the Marshall First United Methodist Church, the Marshall Art League, P.E.O., the American Legion Auxiliary, the Burnsides Guild and the Garden Club. Barbara also served as a leader in both Girl Scouts and 4-H for many generations. She was the bookkeeper for the family business, Martin Drug Store. She loved life and her family. Her quick wit will be remembered by her family and all who met her. Barbara is survivied by her sister, Jacque (John) Weberg of Scottsdale, AZ; three daughters, Debora (Tony) Katauskas of Goodyear, AZ, Susan (Alan) Anderson of Charleston, IL and Amy (Mario) Garza of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, Brent (Stephanie) Katauskas of Austin, TX and Sara (Rod) Garza of Hoenix, AZ; three great grandchildren, Ellie and Kane Garza and A.J. Katauskas was well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Patt Shafer. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Villas of Holy Brook and to the staff at Providence Health Care on the campus of Saint Mary-Of-The Woods. The family is planning a celebration of life to he held at a later date. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Marshall, the Marshall Gaslight Art Colony or the Sisters of Providence at St. Mary-of-the-Woods, IN.
