Bessie Marie Hodge, 72, of Camdenton, MO, formerly of Marshall, IL passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 in Memorial Specialty Hospital at Lufkin, TX. She was born July 29, 1941 at Marshall, IL, the daughter of Albert Carpenter Sr. and Laura M. Birchfield Carpenter. Surviving are her soul mate, Jim Redman of Camdenton, MO; her children, Leanna Lynn Oster (Significant Other - Warren Ryan) of West Alton, MO, David (Alta) Stockton of Bourbon, MO and Lori (Ben) Falls of Ash Fork, AZ; the children of Jim Redman, Brian (Jackie) Redman of Demorest, GA and Eric (Amanda) Redman of Camdenton, MO; a brother, Albert "Jake" (Sharon) Carpenter of Dennison, IL; grandchildren, T.J., Amanda, David Jr., Crystal and Sean; the grandchildren of Jim Redman, Caleb and Myles; a step daughter, Sandra Hodge-Minton of St. Charles, MO; three great grandchildren, Ashley, Austin and McKenna; a niece and a nephew. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce, a husband, Al Hodge and a step son, Mike Hodge. She was a member of the B.P.O.E. Auxiliary at St. Charles MO and was a 1959 graduate of Marshall High School. Bessie loved to cook for others and she especially loved her family. She loved to travel and had homes in the Lake of the Ozarks, Texico, IL and Milam, TX. She was a true and loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Services in honor and respect to her life will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home at Marshall, IL with Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery, rural Marshall, IL. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday and prior services at the funeral home on Saturday.
