Brent D. Gardner, 57, of Casey, IL. entered eternity on November 4, 2024. He is survived by his loyal and loving wife, Tammy, his three children, Brian (Sarah) Gardner of Casey, IL, Andrea (Justin) Ashton of Chicago, IL, and Leana (Jacob) Dispennett of Brazil, IN, and his five grandbabies, Mckenzie and Hunter Gardner, Adalie and Jadon Dispennett, and Cohen Ashton. He is also survived by his supportive parents, Larry and Carolyn Gardner of Casey, IL, his loving sister, Lori (Mohammad) Chehab of Thonotosassa, FL, nephew, Ahmad (Giovanni) Chehab of Miami, FL and niece, Aisha (Mostafa) Radwan of Temple Terrace, FL, great niece and nephew, Malik and Reema Radwan, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Virginia Baker and Herman and Wilma Gardner, his mother-in-law, Virginia Deisher, and his father-in-law, Max Manhart. Brent was born to Larry and Carolyn Gardner on August 18, 1967 in Terre Haute, IN. In high school he enjoyed being in the FFA and taking shop classes. He graduated from Casey High School in 1985. In his younger years, Brent worked at Hardway, Food Shop, Scott’s Building Center, Illinois Inserts, and was an assistant road commissioner to Dave Glidewell in Hazel Dell. Brent farmed in Casey, Illinois as did the five generations of Gardner men who came before him, and as his son, Brian, does now. Brent was so very blessed to do his daily farmwork alongside his dad and then his son, both of whom carried on the farmwork during the rough times of his illness. Brent had a steady, kind spirit. He truly enjoyed his family. God joined him to the love of his life, Tammy Manhart, when they got married on October 8, 1988. They have been whole-heartedly devoted to one another for 36 years. Through thick and thin they have shared the sweetest friendship. God gave them three children. They proudly received their boy and future farmer when Brian was born in 1990 and then they received their surprising two-for-one when their twins, Andrea and Leana, were born in 1992. The family enjoyed many rich benefits of growing together on the farm. Brent’s listening ear was always tuned and ready during farm rides. He shared his love of animals with his kids. They enjoyed four-wheeling, camping, hiking, boating, fishing, and canoeing together. Many nights were spent having cookouts at the creek. Brent would entertain his family and friends for hours with his hilarious stories. There was always a little bit more exaggeration than he wanted to admit. He always had the best sense of humor and looked at the lighter side of things. He loved all kinds of games. He could listen to his music for hours on end and especially loved when his family joined him in doing so. His favorite band was 38 Special. Brent also loved riding his motorcycle and reading novels. Brent had a special fondness for his pups, Millie and Miles, and his grandpups, Daisy and Gracie. He was beyond proud of his grandbabies and loved nothing better than to tease them and fill the room with their shrieks and giggles. Brent was given the beautiful gift of four additional years of life when he received a kidney transplant at Cleveland Clinic in November 2020, a gift that his family is immensely grateful for. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday at Our Memory Lane, 704 NE 3rd St., Casey, IL with services in honor of his life 1:00 PM Tuesday at Our Memory Lane.
