Candace S. “Candy” Barnhart, 65, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:57 PM Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 in St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital at Indianapolis, IN. She retired from the lab at Union Hospital at Terre Haute and had received degrees in the medical field from both Danville Community College and IVY Tech. Candy was born June 6, 1953 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Darrell E. and Doris M. Hogue Beckwith. On Aug. 30, 1980 she married Michael A. Barnhart at Marshall, IL. Surviving are her husband, Mike; an aunt, Thelma Gard of Marshall, IL; several cousins including Cheryl Jo White and her husband, James of Dennison, TX; her father and mother-in-law, Bill and Sarah Barnhart of Marshall, IL; sister-in-law, Cindy (Mike) Elledge of Marshall, IL; brother-in-law, Charles Barnhart of Marshall, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Marshall and was a 1971 graduate of Marshall High School. She loved antiques and was especially fond of her dogs. Services in honor of her life will be 1:00 PM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Pruiett officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
