Carroll Max Robertson, 81, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born August 13, 1938 to Dale Robertson and Helen (Robertson) Hubble. Carroll was a 1957 graduate of Martinsville High School. Having moved around much of his childhood he moved to Martinsville, IL as a freshman in high school where he soon met the love of his life and future wife Annalee Ellington Robertson. Carroll and Annalee were married December 27, 1957. Shortly after graduation Carroll joined the Navy and served 4 years on the USS Essex. After leaving the Navy he worked a short time for Caterpillar before accepting employment with Eli Lilly & Co. He retired from Eli Lilly in 1993 after 23 years of service where he held multiple roles in operations and maintenance. Carroll developed a passion for music in his retirement years and greatly enjoyed Blue Grass music. He was a natural story teller and the many stories he shared will be cherished for years by those that knew him. Carroll is survived by his wife, Annalee Robertson of Quincy, IL; daughter, Ronna Robertson of Quincy, IL; his beloved cat, Tom; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Robertson; mother, Helen Hubble; son, Doug Robertson and half brother, Bud Robertson. Services in honor of his life will be held 11:00 AM CST Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020 at the Martinsville First Christian Church. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery of Martinsville Twp. immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt.
