Charles A. Macke, 60, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:47 PM Friday, May 29, 2015 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center where he had been admitted earlier in the day.
He was employed as an operating engineer by Local #841. Charlie was born Aug. 30, 1954 at Hillsboro, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford "Poodle" and Goldie Graham Macke. Surviving is his wife, Dawn Downey Macke who he married March 23, 1982 at the Bell Ridge Christian Church of Paris, IL; two daughters, Sammantha (Jon) Rose of Loudon, NH and Millie (Pat) Macke Rardin of Penbroke, NH; a son, Abe (Katelyn Nash) Macke of Marshall, IL and his grandchildren, Ava Rose, Beckett Rose, Cala Rose, Maxwell Rose, Rylee Rardin and Raegan Rardin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Macke.
He was a member of the International Benchrest Shooters Association and formerly a 2 time record holder of the 600 yards rifle shooting. He was also a member of the Marshall Gun Club and was a 1972 graduate of Paris High School.
Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Following cremation, the family will later have a burial srevice. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Clark County Animal Shelter.
