Charles A. "Bud" Stone,88, of Marshall, IL passed away 6:20 PM Monday, March 11, 2013 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. He was a retired farmer. He was born April 15, 1924 in Edgar Co., IL, the son of John Joseph and Margaret Ellen Cassidy Stone. He was first married to Juanita Rose Wilson on Feb. 24, 1949 and she preceded him in death on May 24, 1992. He later married Vineta Rose Randolph Davidson on Oct. 2, 2004. Surviving are his wife, Vineta; his children, Loren Ray (Suzette) Stone, Joseph Earl (Diana) Stone, Thomas Lee (Theresa) Stone, Rebecca Lynn (David) Bayes and Ronald Wayne (Ginny) Stone all of Marshall; 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; four step sons, Keith (Gayle) Davidson of Melbourne, FL, Kevin (Sheila) Davidson of Marshall, IL, Kent (Christy) Davidson of Woodbury, MN and Kirk (Melissa) Davidson of Brentwood, TN; 18 step grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and one sister. He served this country in the US Army during WWII where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Marshall where he was an Elder and attended the Church of Christ of Marshall. He was a member of the VFW Post #5975, Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion and the NRA. He loved his Lord Jesus and all of his grandchildren. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Services in honor of his life will be 10:30 AM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #5975 and Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday and prior services on Friday at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Wabashi Christian Youth Camp with envelopes at the funeral home.
