Charles E. Blankenship, 82, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:44 PM Monday, December 1, 2014 at his home.
He was a retired farmer and had served as Anderson Twp. Road Commissioner for several years. He served this nation in the US Army during the Korean War. He was born August 31, 1932 at Paris, IL, the son of Alton Blankenship and Kathryn Bradford Blankenship.
Surviving are a son, Randy; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; five sisters, Donna Sanders, Shirley Shumaker, Alberta Siverly, Ruby Paulsen and Martha Garner all of Marshall and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Slagley Blankenship; a daughter, Sharon Sue Blankenship and a brother, Sonny Blankenship.
A true outdoorsman, Chuck loved wildlife and loved to hunt. He had put much effort in establishing more turkey for hunting purposes in this area.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday, Dec. 8th at Marshall Cemetery with Bro. Paul Cooper officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post #5975 and Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion. There will be no visitation. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Natl. Wild Turkey Federation.
