Charles E. Wieland, 85, of Robinson, IL, formerly of Marshall, IL, passed away 11:59 PM Tuesday, July 22, 2025 in Good Samaritan Hospital at Vincennes, IN. He was born September 7, 1939 in rural Clark County, IL the son of Paul E. and Margie H. Poulter Wieland who preceded him in death as well as a grandson, Adam Kraemer. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Hinkel Wieland who he married July 15, 2005; his children, Paula (Tom) Cline, Judy (Stan) Kraemer, Cheryl Wieland and Chuck (Misty) Wieland; step-daughters, Kathy (Jeff) McKee and Debbie (Jim) Hinkle; grandchildren, Alissa, Scott, Darcy, Jami, Charlie, Paul and Hannah; step-grandchildren, Brittany, Jason, Lindsay and Jenna; ten great grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Charley had formerly farmed in Clark County for several years and retired as a Captain with the IL Dept. of Corrections at the Robinson facility. Following his retirement he had served as a jailer for the Crawford County Sheriff’s office and had also worked as a security guard in the Robinson area. He was the former Democratic Chair for Crawford County and was a member of Lodge #250 AF & AM of Robinson and American Legion Post # 69 of Robinson. Visitation will be 3-6 PM Sunday with a masonic service at 6:00 PM at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall. Services in honor of his life will be 10:30 AM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites.
