Cheryl L. Comer, 60, of Marshall, IL passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 after a two year battle with Spindle Cell Sarcoma. She passed at her home surround by family and friends. She was born May 12, 1957 in Terre Haute, IN, a daughter of Warren and Rita Arbuckle. Cheryl married the love of her life, Scott Comer, on June 26, 1975 and to this union they were blessed with a daughter, Natasha Comer. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Scott; daughter, Natasha Comer and fiancee’, Nathan Pence of Marshall; mother; Rita Arbuckle of Jasper, IN; brother, Daniel Arbuckle of Jasper, IN; sisters, Karen (Scott) Arney of Marshall, IL and Joyce (Dennis) Kibby of Jasper, IN; sister-in-law, Susie Robinson (Marty Daugherty); brother-in-law, Kim (Brenda) Edington; step father-in-law, Cliff Edington all of Marshall, IL ; a “special daughter, Kim Hoggatt of Marshall, IL; “grandchildren”, Naya and Diego Lara;. special friends, Scott, Penny and Hadley Winegar; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and especially her co-workers at ISU. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother-in-law, Lois H. Smitley; father-in-law, Russell S. Comer; an infant sister, Phyllis and a sister, Carla Hefner, who passed away just 8 days prior Cheryl, both passing from different types of cancer. Cheryl was an employee of ISU for 20 years. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1975 and had attended the Pentacostal Church of Marshall for several years. She was a lover of cats and had three of her own who took turns sleeping at her feet. Services in honor of her life will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with cremation following the services. Visitation will be 11:00 until service time.
