Clara B. Bartram, 89, of Marshall, IL passed away 7:10 PM Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021 at her daughters home in rural Marshall. Clara worked side by side with her husband on the farm and also together in the training and racing of Thoroughbred horses for many years. Clara was born in the Melrose area of Clark Co., IL on March 27, 1931, the daughter of Roscoe and Goldie Clements Cornwell and was a 1949 graduate of Martinsville High School. She married Marion Junior “Pete” Bartram on Sept. 18, 1949 at Mt. Olive Church and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1984. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Barbara Galey, Rex Cornwell, Iola Thompson, Clema Stephens, Eva Dale Heleine, Carroll Cornwell, Daniel Cornwell, Esther Drum and infant sibling, Elizabeth Ann Cornwell. Surviving are her children, Alta (Leif) Youngdahl of Marshall, Darlena (Ken) Anders of Strasburg, CO, Brad Bartram of Marshall, Tina (Preston) Hutchinson of Marshall, Brent (Glenny) Bartram of Wilmington, DE and Malcom (Denise) Bartram of Trenton, OH; grandchildren, Erika Dawn Youngdahl, Carla Youngdahl, Cody Walker, Paige Gross, Reece Hutchinson, Carter Bartram, Adair Bartram, Logan Bartram, Brody Bartram, Bailey Bartram and Parker Bartram ; four great grandchildren ; a brother, Larry Cornwell and several nieces and nephews. She was a long-time member of the Marshall Baptist Church, received her Associates Degree in Childcare from Lakeland College and had previously driven a school bus for the Marshall School District. Private services will be held Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with a public graveside service 10:45 AM Saturday at the Livingston Cemetery, rural Marshall, IL with Bro. Gene Ellis officiating. A public walk-through visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, all those in attendance are to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
