Clarence Thomas Douglas, 74, of Marshall, IL passed away 2:00 AM Thursday, October 16, 2014 at his home.
He was a retired farmer and construction worker belonging to Local #204. Clarence was born July 22, 1940 in Clark Co., IL, the son Thurman Douglas and Mabel McCullough Douglas. He married Beverly Gallington on May 21, 1960 in Clark Co., IL.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly; a son, Loren Douglas of Terre Haute, IN; two daughters, Cindee (Fred) Washburn of Malabar, FL and Pamela (James) Poorman of Murfreesboro, TN; nine grandchildren, Loren Jr., Amber, Logan, Keonna, Brandy, Jason, Heather, Cheyenne and Abriana; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Forester and Faye Keefer both of Marshall; two brothers, Fred Douglas of Crossville, TN and Jim Douglas of Marshall, IL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one niece and two nephews.
He was a member of the Johnson County Farm Bureau and he was a 1958 graduate of Marshall High School. He enjoyed woodworking and liked to hunt and fish.
Services in honor of his life will be 3:00 PM (Central Time) Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Pastor Judy Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery, rural Marshall. Visitation will be 12 Noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Dunlap United Methodist Church or to Pancreatic Cancer Research.
