Danny Lindsey, 70, of West Terre Haute passed away peacefully at home in the first hour of Thursday, September 17, 2026 with his wife, Beverly, by his side. Danny is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Beverly, sson, Daniel (Stephanie), daughter , Katie, and step-great grandson, Bronson, brother-in-law Douglas (Beverly) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His love for his brothers from a different mother, Randy (Robin) Wyrick and Allen Lindsay, and his special neighbor, Steve Martin can never be measured. Danny was born to Nancy Ellen Hooper on November 30, 1955. Nancy and his stepdad Joe (Both Deceded), raised Danny along wiht his siblings, Dennis, Diane, and Duwayne (Belinda). Danny was very proud of his time in the Army serving as a tank turret mechanic from November 1973 until November 1980. He was first stationed as Fort Knox, Kentucky then in the 1st Armored Brigade/3rd Armored Division in Kirchgoens, Germany following his marriage to Beverly on October 16th, 1977. Upon his return to the States, Danny began work at Sycamore Engineering through his uncle Tom Hooper. His first job was cleaning the glue off tiles from the bathrooms being renovated at eh Holiday Inn, a job that was budgeted for a six week completion. Danny finished in less than a week. He started the four-year Local 157 Plumbers/Steamfitters Apprenticeship Training program in 1982 completing it in 1986. He retired December 1, 2013. Danny was an avid sportsman hunting deer every season on various properties in Vigo County. One he harvested was a Buskmaster's Boone and Crockett Record. He also brought home two bears from his trips to Remigny, Quebec, Canada, one being a Pope and Young record. Not to be left out, Colorado proved to be fruitful for Danny as well with an Elk. He felt enormous responsibility to any aspiring hnter, to pass along his hunting expertise which included rules in the woods, courtesies to other hunters, and making sure their shot was true. Danny's legacy of being a generous man both with his time and enormous skills, were well known, often providing tools and knowhow to anyone who asked. As a master of tolls, equipment, and miscellaneous parts, if you couldn't find the bolt, nut, or tool you needed, everyone knew to call him. Menard's had nothing on Dan and he aptly earned the nickname Packusratus foe all the various supplies he had available at hsi fingertips. If he didn't have whatever you needed, he knew of someone to contact to get it or he would simply build it. Thus was, our Dad, Danny, Dodo, Dano, Big Man. The husband, father, relative, friend. The Man,the Myth, The Legend. The Family wishes to thank the staff at Majestic Care (North) nursing home for their care, comfort, and dignity that they provided Danny during his stay. Special love to his nurse, Natasha and CNAs Walter, and Maria who provided that specialized care and attention that Danny so desperately needed. In Addition, the staff of Southern Care Hospice Services were exceptional and immediate in their respoonce to Danny's end of life needs. Their caring and gentle manner will not be forgotten.
