David Andrew Bland, 101 of Marshall, IL passed away on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020. He was born on March 29, 1919 in Terre Haute , IN to Verlin and Margaret Weaver Bland. He was a successful farmer for many years and helped operate a poultry business with his wife. Upon retirement he engaged in showing Pygmy goats all over the State of Illinois. He was a member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church and held many leadership positions. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge for over 70 years and a standing member of the Clark County Farm Bureau. He and his wife were 4-H leaders in Clark County for many years and a member of the Clark County 4-H Foundation. He was a member of the Dunlap Cemetery Board and was responsible for the major renovation at the cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, Donnetta Smith and husband Richard; granddaughter Dana Warner and husband Chad; great grandchildren, Ally Garcia and Cade Warner and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Dorothea Bland, and his brothers Herbert Bland and Murl Bland. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Joy Starwait officiating. Burial will follow at Dunlap Cemetery.
