David H. Shotts Sr., 76, of Marshall, IL passed away 2:55 PM Monday, July 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He and his wife were co-owners of Whippoorwill Antique Mall of Marshall. David was also a farmer and had been employed by different companies as a welder and fabricator. David was born Oct. 31, 1941 at Kansas, IL, the son of Ralph and Marie Staggs Shotts. He married Mary Sue Ormiston on July 2, 1960 at Casey, IL. Surviving are his wife, Mary Sue; children, Yvonne (Doug) Dahnke of Martinsville, David (Tracy) Shotts Jr. of Marshall and Michael (Susan) Shotts of Martinsville; grandchildren, Trent (Kalee) Dahnke, Heidi (Eugene) Miller, Ethan (Sara) Shotts, Josie Shotts, Adeline Shotts, Gage Shotts and Lana Shotts; great grandchildren, Cooper Dahnke, Tucker Dahnke, Brooke Dahnke, Kendall Miller, Alex Shotts and Ben Shotts; a brother-in-law, Ken (Joan) Ormiston of Paris, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaleena Dahnke, his parents and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was a member of the Bell Ridge Christian Church and had been a member of the Martinsville First Christian Church for many years where he served both as a deacon, elder and youth sponsor. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and was a 1959 graduate of Martinsville High School. Services in honor of his life will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home with Bros. Kurt Speece and Mitch Camp officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, rural Martinsville. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bell Ridge Christian Church or to the Martinsville First Christian Church.
