David William Schaefer, 53, of Marshall, IL passed away 2:30 AM Thursday, October 9, 2014 in the Paris Healthcare Center at Paris, IL.

He was formerly the manager of Marco's Restaurant at Indianapolis, IN. David was born Feb. 11, 1961 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Frederick W. Schaefer and Patricia Beckwith Schaefer. Surviving are his mother of Marshall; two sisters, Donna (Kevin) Barth and Teri (Todd) Brashear both of Marshall, IL; nieces and nephews, Jamie (Brian) Hamlett, Dustin (Elyse) Kile, Tyler Brashear, Trey Brashear and Tara Brashear and two great nieces, Cadie Hamlett and Brooklyn Hamlett. He was preceded in death by his father.

He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He was a 1979 graduate of Marshall High School and a 1983 graduate of the University of Illinois. He enjoyed traveling to other places, especially his travels that took him throughout Europe. David loved his family and friends, especially his nieces, nephews and great nieces.

Services in honor of his life will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wooten officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Saturday at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
