Dean Stanly Perisho, 96, resident of the Quincy IL Veterans Home and formerly of Marshall passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2018. He was born May 2, 1921, the oldest son of Golden and Tina Perisho. He is survived by a son, Ronald (Denise) Perisho of Ballwin, MO and a daughter, Sandra (Larry) Bullock of Higley, AZ. Dean was grandfather to Alicia, Sheila and Taylor; great-grandfather to Luke, Kennedy, Jade, Savannah, Cadence and Isaac; brother to Evan (Sherry) of Lexington Park, MD and Carroll (Cheryl) of Terre Haute, IN and a sister, Betty of Istaachatta, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Ruby, Olive, Hazel and Opal. Dean is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. He greatly loved and prayed for his entire family. He was preceded in death by wife Rose June who he was married for 44 years. They were both active member of the South Vigo Congregational Church of Vigo County where they taught Sunday school. June played the organ and Dean was assistant pastor for 6 months. He often delivered the sermon, helped maintain the church, led singing and served on the board. Dean served in the Navy during WW II as a flight engineer. This led to many hours of interesting stories reminiscing with his family and fellow veterans. In his civilian years, he was test aircraft instrumentation inspector for the US Navy. Dean will best be remembered for his sweet nature, contagious smile and love of the Lord. Services in honor of his life will be 1:30 PM Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, IL. Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the South Vigo Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion and VFW Post #5975.
