Deborah L. Bartnick, 58, of Marshall, IL passed away 7:52 AM Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. She had received her Master’s Degree in Nursing and had taught at Indiana State University and Ivy Tech’s School of Nursing of Terre Haute, IN. For the past several years, she was an item writer for NCLEX Exams for nursing and had taught throughout the United State in preparing for those taking the nursing exam for licensure. Deborah was born Nov. 23, 1962 in Michigan City, IN, the daughter of John W. and Pequita Watkins Behrndt. On Oct. 31, 1987 she married Michael Bartnick at Michigan, IN. Surviving are her husband, Michael; children, Lauren (Kevin) Briner, Joseph (Jessica) Bartnick, Brendan (Savannah) Bartnick, Zachary (Madison) Bartnick and Lucas (Carter) Bartnick; grandchildren, Arland, Maddie, Cooper, Henry, Norah, Mya and Bentley; her mother of Marshall, IL and a sister, Melinda (Michael) Janosky of Noblesville, IN. She was preceded in death by a son, Gunnar; her father and a brother, Jon Behrndt. She attended St. John’s Episcopal Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A visitation will be held 3-6 PM Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Thursday in the Greenwood Cemetery at Michigan City, IN.
