Donald "Pops" Burroughs, 78, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Decatur, IL and Marshall, IL passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at Louisville, KY. He was a retired mechanic. He was born Oct. 19, 1934 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Raymond and Thelma Burroughs. He was married to Frances Johnson Burroughs who preceded him in death in 1972. Surviving are a son, Steven Burroughs of Marshall, IL; two daughters, Sandy Burroughs of Louisville, KY and Cathy Kidner of Oregon; his grandchildren referred to as "Little Angels", Jessica, Brandi, Jade, Kristi, Stephanie, Tessa, Ryan and Kelly; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Starnes of Brimfield, IL and a brother, Jerry Burroughs of West Monroe, LA. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Don was a friendly and outgoing person who loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all his heart. He loved to socialize with others and was the 'jokester' to those who helped care for him at Springhurst Health and Rehab. He loved to fish, enjoyed working with model trains and loved his Harley motorcycles. Memorial services in honor of his life will be held 1:30 PM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Bro. John Cutshall of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be beside his wife at the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Logansport, IN. Visitation will be after 12 noon Friday at the funeral home.
