Dorothy E. Meehan, 98, of Marshall, IL, passed away in the A.M. on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, in the Villas of Holly Brook at Marshall. Dorothy was born April 20, 1924, in Marshall, IL. Dorothy was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She is survived by a son, John (Vickie) Meehan; two granddaughters, Stephanie (Mitch) Landess and Marissa (Bill) Cannato; and great grandson Max Landess. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Meehan; a son, Thomas Meehan, and a sister, Helena Hillary. She was a retired teach. She loved to Challenge her students and enjoyed many years teaching business at Marshall High School. An avid reader; she had a special interest in American history, biographies, and current events. She enjoyed bird watching, working in her flower garden and farm life. Farm life with her husband began in Hume in Edgar County before the family moved to Clark County in 1967. In 1981, Harold and Dorothy continued to live on the farm and their son John returned home to take over the farming business. Together, Harold and Dorothy enjoyed 20 years of traveling to their winter home in Bradenton, FL. In 2013, Harold and Dorothy became residents of the Villas of Holly Brook, where they enjoyed a comfortable life during their stay. Mass will be celebrated in honor of Dorothy Meehan at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall, IL with Rev. Augustine Koomson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:50 A.M. Monday at Pearce Funeral Home.
