Dr. David Dwayne (Doc) Sutton D.C. of Malvern, AR passed away May 16, 2017. He was born Jan. 18, 1941 at Paris, IL, the son of Russell Earl and Ruth Lowry Sutton Sr. He was a 1959 graduate of Marshall High School, served in the US Army in England shortly after and subsequently graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1974. He then moved to Malvern, AR with his wife and children and began his Chiropractic practice that he held there until his death. He and his wife owned the Malver Bowling Center for years and he was an avid bowler. He was an active member of the Arkansas Chiropractic Association, Malvern Moose Lodge, Malvern Lion’s Club and the Masonic Lodge. Doc had a true passion for helping others, had a love for classic muscle care especially GTO’s and he loved shooting pool and playing poker. Doc was more than just a Chiropractor to his patients, he was a good friend. Doc did not have set hours or days in the office. He would meet patients in need, anytime of the day or night to treat them. In 44 years of practice, he never missed a day of work. His humanitarianism was visible for all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda King Sutton; daughters, Casey, Sloane, Shelby, Staci and Summer Sutton; a grandchild, Robert (Tres’) Griffin; siblings, Norma Jean Darnell, Paul Sutton, Harold Sutton and Kay (Sutton) Garver; sister-in-law, Karla King Hardy; brother-in-law, Troy King and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Russell “Bud” Sutton Jr. and a nephew, Paul E. (Davy) David Jr. Services in honor of his life will be 3:00 PM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vermilion Cemetery, rural Edgar County, IL with military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or gifts, those desiring may contribute to a memorial fund established at Malvern National Bank in Malvern, AR.
