Edna E. Schwartz, 95, of Marshall, IL, formerly of Springfield, IL passed away 8:30 PM Sunday, May 24th, 2015 in Gowin Park at Mattoon, IL.

She retired from teaching after 40 years of service. In Marshall she had taught at Stringtown and both North and South Schools. She later taught in the Chenoa and Springfield, IL School districts.

Edna was born April 4, 1920 in Clark co., IL, the daughter of Joe and Anna Finkbiner Davidson. She married George S. Schwartz on Nov. 6, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1998. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons Ralph Davidson Schwartz on March 22, 1950 and Harold Joe Schwartz on March 13, 1983 and two brothers, John Davidson and Paul Allen Davidson.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Marshall, the United Methodist Women of the church and also the Garden Club.

Services in honor of her life will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, rural Marshall. Visitation will be 7:00 AM until service time Thursday with family members being present after 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, for those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Stained Glass Restoration Fund of the First United Methodist Church.
