Edward E. Carpenter, 65, of Marshall, IL joined the Lord in his heavenly home Friday, October 21, 2016 at his home.
He was a retired painting contractor.
Edward was born Sept. 22, 1951 at Pontiac, MI, the son of Everett and Helen Williamson Carpenter.
Surviving are his companion of many years, Lori Mullen; a son, Edward (Heather) Carpenter of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Makenna Carpenter, Ryder Carpenter and Cruz Carpenter; two step children, Charlene Mullen and Sam Mullen both of Marshall; siblings, Hugh (Chris) Carpenter of Clinton, IN, Helen Gorman of Lafayette, IN, Henry (Tammy) Carpenter of Marshall and Mike (Mary) Wheeler both of Marshall and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Carpenter; a nephew, George Carpenter; a sister-in-law, Vonnie Carpenter and a brother, Robert Carpenter.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows. He worked as a painter and had worked on the Slopes of Alaska.
He liked Indy Car and NASCAR racing and had loved watching his son participate in Quarter Midget Racing all the way to Indy Car racing. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and lived life to the fullest.
Services in honor of his life will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 Noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
