Elsie Douglas Stepp, 97, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:26 AM Thursday, October 18, 2012 in Regional Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. She was born on Feb. 9, 1915 at Dennison, IL, the daughter of George Douglas and Clara Buser Douglas. Her husband of 24 years, Woodrow Stepp, preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1958. Surviving are her sons, George Thomas Stepp of Rose Hill, IL, Robert Stepp of Marshall, IL, Charles (Judy) Stepp of Marshall, IL, Denzil (Cheryl) Stepp of Marshall, IL and Richard (Nancy) Stepp of Marshall, IL; daughters, Rosa Coris of Kingsport, TN, Linda McMyne of Marshall, IL, Lois (Bill) Kemp of Rockford, IL and Doris Stepp of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Junior, Allen and Scott McDaniel, Greg, Roy, Tony, Jeff and Molly Stepp, Sandra Ferguson, Tammy Carson, Cathy Martin and Timothy Stepp, Mark Coris and Tina Coris Carter, Cordia Stepp, Jo Hinkel, Dawn McMyne Brockman, Brian and Dustin Kemp, Michael and Christopher Stepp; 36 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Edna Douglas of Marshall, IL and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia McDaniel and Peggy Stepp; a son Dow Stepp; two grandsons, Denzil James Stepp and Woody Dean Stepp and two brothers, John Douglas and Thurman Douglas. She was active in the farming community as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Dow E. Stepp VFW Auxiliary where she had held the office of Chaplain and was a Gold Star Mother. Services in honor of her life will be 1:00 PM Monday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Krista Price officiating. Burial will be in the Dunlap Cemetery, rural Dennison, IL Visitation will be 2:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday and 7:00 AM until service time Monday at the funeral home.
