Emma L. Kinzel, age 89, of Chrisman, IL, formerly of Marshall, IL passed away quietly on June 19, 2012, after a short hospitalization. She was born on June 23, 1922 on the Stewart homestead in Chrisman, IL to Virgil and Lida (Smith) Stewart. She is survived by her daughter Veletta Forsythe Lill and son-in-law John Lill and grandson Stewart Lill all of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Virgil Stewart and sister-in-law Esther Stewart of Chrisman, IL; nieces Judy Holbert of Chrisman, IL and Shirley Aikman of Terre Haute, IN. She was preceded in death by her second Husband, John Kinzel. Emma was a graduate of Chrisman High School and she also attended 1 year of Nursing School at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, IL. She would go on to work as waitress and cook at the Elks Club and Sycamore Hills Country Club, in Paris, IL. Known for her positive spirit and wry sense of humor, she found joy in life in her family, traveling, golfing, and gardening. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday June 22, 2012 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, IL with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hoult Cemetery in Chrisman, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Friends of Marshall Public Library or the Missions of the First United Methodist Church of Marshall, IL.
