Fenton Macke Sr., 95, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:45 AM Wednesday, June 19, 2013 with his three children and their spouses at his side. He was retired from the Velsicol Chemical Corp. of Marshall and had also farmed in Clark and Edgar Counties, IL which was the profession he truly loved. He was born September 25, 1917 in Wabash Twp. of Clark Co., IL, the son of Harry Macke and Nellie Baggs Macke. He was first married to Dorothy Maxine Milbourn who preceded him in death on August 28, 1950 and later married Margaret Jane Spotts who preceded him in death on June 30, 2003. Surviving are his three children, Shirley (Stanley) Icenogle of Bargersville, IN, Fenton (Judi) Macke of Crown Point, IN and Larry (Suzanne) Macke of Terre Haute, IN; a brother, Leon (Norma) Macke of Marshall, IL; a sister, Wilma (John) Hoggatt of Marshall, IL; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Virgil, Wayne, Herschel, Glenn, Norman and Herbert and four sisters, Ruby Jane Macke, Dorothy Macke, Mary Linton and Waneda Finkbiner. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Marshall. He was a true and loyal St. Louis Cardinals Fan, loved gardening and all his pets. Services in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with his son-in-law, Bro. Stanley Icenogle officiating. Burial will follow at the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday and also prior services at the funeral home on Saturday.
