Florence F. “Flossie” Rhoads. 89, of Marshall, IL. passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing in Marshall, IL. Flossie was born May 29, 1936 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Alva Letner and Mildred Graeff Letner. September 12, 1954. She married Clayton William “Bill” Rhoads who preceded her in death on April 21, 2014. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. Roman. Surviving are her children Gwyn (David) Brown of Fitchburg, WI, Gayle (Larry) Lisman of Indianapolis, IN and Bill (Nancy) Rhoads of Marshall, IL: grandchildren include, Nicholas (Elaine) Brown, Nathan (Courtney) Brown, Jared (Danielle) Brown, Joshua Brown, Ryan Rhoads, Aaron Rhoads and Lindsey (Anthony) Osborne; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Marshall, participated in the Power Lunch Program of the church along with helping with Chili Day at the church. She especially enjoyed Evening Thyme Garden Club activities and members. Flossie loved to serve others and this service was shared in her employment at Burnsides Nursing Home, AP&S Clinic in Terre Haute and Cork Medical Center in Marshall. Her kind disposition was very fitting with her position as a nurse. She will always be remembered for the beautiful blue lighted Christmas tree at her residence on Archer Ave. in Marshall. Visitation will be 12 Noon to 2:00 PM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home with a service in honor of her life at 2:00 PM. Pastor Bill Wiggs will officiate. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery.
