Forrest “Richard” Davis of Marshall, IL passed away 12:47 PM Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022. Richard was a certified police officer and before his retirement from the Marshall Police Dept. he had been the assistant chief of police. He taught at the police academy, worked for the Marshall Ambulance Service and for the City of Marshall. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing board and card games, going for drives in the park and countryside and playing with his grandchildren. Richard also enjoyed listening to John Hagee and Billy Graham, researching new things, telling jokes and was a member of the Marshall Church Of The Nazarene. In addition to his parents Woodrow and Mary Roes Davis Jr., he was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Ann; a brother, Woodrow and his great-granddaughter, Jocelyn. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Thelma Collier Davis; children, Angela Davis (Steve Snodgrass), Aaron Davis, Eric Davis (Erin) and Rachel McCalister (Harry); 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Delbert Davis and several nieces and nephews. Services in honor of his life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Oct. 22nd at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Beeman officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites.
