Frank C. Barkley, 89, of Terre Haute, IN passed away 10:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his residence. He was a retired electrician having been a member of IBEW Local #725 for over 60 years. Frank was born April 12, 1928 at Farina, IL, the son of Clarence L. and Catherine I. Wyrick Barkley. He married Alice R. Allen on Jan. 20, 1948 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 1995. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Barkley and Robert “Red” Barkley and two sisters, Betty Evitt and Kitty Higginbotham. Surviving are a son, Danny D. (Sue) Barkley of Ava, MO; a daughter, Sherrie L. (Norman) Cheesman of Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Elise (Jimmy) Kellar, Michelle (Philip) Shuman, Brandon (Gina) Barkley, Allen Cheesman and David Cheesman; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Jane Angle of Marshall and a brother, Tom Barkley of Marshall. He served this nation in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Marshall Lodge #133 AF & AM and loved the outdoors. Services in honor of his life will be 2:00 PM (IL Time) Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Pastor Vince McFarland officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 12 Noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
