Fredrick Charles “Fred” Lowry, 69, a man who was born to farm, of Martinsville, IL passed away 11:23 PM Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 in Westminster Village and Rehab at Terre Haute, IN. Fred was a well known farmer in Clark Co., IL and worked for the Illinois Dept. of Transportation for many years. A community minded person, he had served as Chairman of the Clark Co. Republican Party, the Martinsville School board, Trustee of Auburn Twp.; a member of the Clark Co. Pork Producers for several years and a member of the Martinsville First Baptist Church. Whenever assistance was needed from his community or friends he would always be there. He was not only devoted to his community, but to his children, grandchildren and friends. Fred was a faithful and loyal fan of the Chicago Bears. He was born Jan. 29, 1951 at Paris, IL, the son of Raymond and Thelma Irene Lyons Lowry. Surviving are his children, Charity (Ed) Dudley of Plainfield, IN, Joshua (Alisha) Lowry and Jared (Brianna) Lowry both of Martinsville; grandchildren, Ethan Lowry, Alex Lowry, Olivia Lowry, Alayna Dudley, and Paisley Lowry; two brothers, John Lowry of Marshall and Bill Lowry of Martinsville; a sister, Patricia Zachary of Martinsville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lee and Karen Kesling. Fred was a faithful and loyal fan of the Chicago Bears. Private services in honor of his life will be Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. A public walk through visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, it will be required that all those in attendance wear proper face coverings and practice social distancing.
