Gene H. Cline, 95, of Marshall, IL passed away 12:02 PM Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 in Regional Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. He was a retired farmer and served this nation with the 4th Division of the US Marine Corps during WW II. Gene was born July 25, 1922 at West Union, IL, the son of Ivan and Nell Kile Cline. He married Elsa M. Coryell on Sept. 12, 1948 at Marshall and she preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 2009. Surviving are three children, Nancy (Dan) Crumrin of Martinsville, IL, Jim (Jane Ann) Cline and Tom (Paula) Cline both of Marshall; grandchildren, Sarah Reaves, Maggie Cline, Adam Crumrin, Aaron Crumrin, Alissa Huffington and Scott Cline and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Burton Cline, Maxine Davidson, Lois Winland and Flora Ann Williamson. He was a member of Marshall Lodge #133 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Danville and Ainaid Shrine Temple. He was also a member of the West Union American Legion and Clark Co. Farm Bureau. Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Brick Cemetery, rural West Union with military graveside rites conducted by Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion and VFW Post #5975. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday with a Masonic service at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, it is requested memorial contributions to the Marshall Swimming Pool Fund or the Maintenance Fund of the Brick Cemetery Association.
