Geneva E. Evans, 94, of Marshall, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:05 PM Monday, August 14, 2023 with her children by her side. Geneva was born April 5, 1929 at her parent's home at West York, IL. She was the daughter of Hampton and Goldie Sims Angel who both preceded her in death as well as her siblings: Clinton Angel, Kenneth Angel, Dennis Angel, Chauncey Angel, Doreen Nichols and Rowena Newlin and a son, Ronald Evans.On December 12, 1964 she married Wayne E. Evans at the Marshall Baptist Church and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2014. Surviving is a daughter, Beth Evans (Tommy Smith) of Prescott, AZ; and a son, Alan Evans of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Josh Cutright and Kelli Cutright and two great granddaughers, Macy Cutright and Sophia Guana; as well as several nieces and nephews. She graduated from Hutsonville High School and eventually worked at the former Schultz & Co. Department Store. She had been a loyal and faithful member of the Marshall Baptist Church, who with her husband, served their church in many positions. Geneva was also a member of the Marshall Chapter #739 of Eastern Star, the Marshall Women's Club, and the Gideons. Known as a talented cookie baker, she was a member of the national Cookie Cutter Collectors Club and she had several recipes published in the Taste of Home magazine. Services in honor of her life will be held 10:00 AM Monday, August 21st at Pearce Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 -7:00 PM Sunday followed by an Eastern Star Service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Baptist Church.
