George O. Kile, 97, of Annapolis, IL passed away 5:45 PM Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1923 in Anderson Twp., of Clark Co., IL, the son of Albert and Gerdie Johnson Kile. He married Betty Scott on May 10, 1991. Surviving are his wife, Betty; daughters, Jody Scott Florey (Cliff Miller) of DeSota, IL, Becky (Stan) Littlejohn of Hutsonville, IL and Jenny (Brian)Bump of Mt. Carmel, IL; grandkids, Jacob Scott, Torie Miller, Tyler Drum, Dustin Drum, Thane Tingley and Nathan Powers; great grandkids, Kinley Reynolds, Blaze Scott, Nova Scott, Kylie Rouch, Jozie Miller, Tyler “Lil Man” Drum, Isabella Drum, Dominic Drum, Alexis ”Peanut” Drum and Lucas “Tuffy” Drum; siblings, Eliza Nell Arbuckle of Charleston, IL, Henry Kile of Columbus, GA and Nina Shipman of Lexington, KY and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Lou Laird, Albert Jr. Kile, Winona Burnam, William Kile, Wilbur Kile, Bertha Jackson and Bert Kile. George was a member of the Laborers Local and farmed. He especially enjoyed working with cattle. He was never bashful to start up a conversation and he was a friend to many. A public walk through visitation will be 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home. Private services will be held. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. pearcefuneralservices.com
