Harold Edward Anacker went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 22, 2024 at 12:16 am in his home surrounded by family. He was born to William A. Anacker and Clara Mae Harper Anacker on August 2, 1944. He married Ruth Ann Renner, his best friend, on October 2, 1966 and to this union was born two children, Hans Edward Anacker and Mercedez Ann Anacker, both the love of his life. After graduating from Marshall School in 1962, he enlisted in the US Navy (1962-1966) and served on the USS Orion. He then went to sonar school in Key West Florida, which was during the Cuban Crisis, and was assigned to Iceland as a TM 2. Harold attended Lakeland College where he received his Water Operator license and served the City of Marshall in that capacity until he retired. Harold was an avid reader and served on the Library Board for several years, the Clark County Housing Authority Board, was a member of Masonic Lodge #133 where he served as Master and the Order of the Eastern Star. He attended First Congregational Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, daughter, Mercedez Foley (Talbert); daughter-in-law, Jonna Anacker; grandchildren, Lauren Anacker, Carson Foley, Carly Foley (all the love of his life); brother, William D. Anacker (Sandra) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Hans Anacker; a niece, Robin Lynn Anacker and a nephew, Jon Campbell. You were never a stranger to him, only a friend that he hadn't made acquaintance. His motto was "Love and Be Kind to One Another". Services in honor of his life will be 1:00 PM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastors Tim Duke and Steve Rocky. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service prior to the service. Burial with military graveside rites will be in the Marshall Cemetery.
