Helen M. Jeffers, 87, of Marshall, IL and Terre Haute, IN and formerly of Danevport, FL passed away peacefully at 9:15 AM Wednesday April 27, 2016 at Burnsides Community Health Center In Marshall, IL.
She was born on September 18, 1928 in Terre Haute, IN to Clyde and Thelma (Morris) Withem. She married Theodore (Ted) Jeffers Jr. on November 7, 1948 at Seelyville, M.E.Church. He preceded her in death in October of 28, 2012.
Helen graduated from Glenn High School. She worked as a telephone operator at General Telephone CO., Montgomery Ward and Indiana State University. After retiring, she ang her husband traveled in a motor home for several years before settling full time in Florida. Helen loved her years as a cast member at Walt Disney World in Orlando working in the gift shops at Pop Century and The World of Disney. Helen was dedicated to her family and friends. She Showed her love by serving as a Girl Scout Leader for many years, volunteering at school, church, and local hospital, Give Kids the World and Visiting friends in need. She was always there when someone needed her.
She is survived by her daughter Peggy Hutson (Roy Stephen) of Marshall, IL; her son Steve (Diane) Jeffers of Versailles, KY; daughter in law Sheila Jeffers of Terre Haute, IN; Grandchildren Kyle (Adrienne) Hutson of Marshall, IL; Kristen (Phil) Hwang of Avon, IN; Jason Jeffers (Erin Coons) of Brownsburg, IN; Joshua Jeffers of New Castle, IN; Angie Jeffers of Midway, KY; Great Grandchildren Tyler Jeffers of Versailles, KY; Savanah and Lily Hwang of Avon, IN; and Evangeline and Jed Hutson of Marshall, IL. And many in laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son Richard Jeffers, one brother Richard Withem, and one grand daughter Heather Jeffers.
Funeral Services will be held at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, IL at 3:00 PM (Central Time) Sunday May 1, 2016 with Rev Richard Lewis Officiating. Visitation will be form 1:00 PM until Service time in Sunday. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Give Kids the World, or the First United Methodist Church Stained Glass Window Project.
