Helen Marie Tingley, 87, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:15 AM Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Burnsides Community Health Center at Marshall. She was born February 23, 1926 on the family farm near Marshall, IL, the daughter of Walter and Jessie Dunlap Welsh. She married Guy W. Tingley on January 20, 1952 at the Armstrong United Methodist Church near Marshall and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2010. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1944 and attended Indiana Business College at Terre Haute. She worked at Bindley and Company at Terre Haute and later continued the family egg route in Terre Haute and Marshall. Mostly she was a loving homemaker to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Clark County Home Extension and the Clark County Porkettes. Surviving are a son and his wife, Victor and Ginger Tingley of Marshall, IL; a daughter and her husband, Jessie and Dan Crews of Marshall, IL; four grandchildren, Nathan Crews, Landen Crews, Emily Crews and Beth Jones; a brother and his wife, Ray and Beverly Welsh of Marshall: a brother-in-law, Carl Tingley; two sisters-in-law, Vernice Tingley and Margaret Ann Tingley and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert Welsh, Joe Welsh and Robert Welsh and a sister, Frances Milne. Services in honor of her life will be 10:30 AM Thursday at the Zion United Methodist Church with Pastors Nathan Crews and Michael Wooton officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall and also one-hour prior services at the church on Thursday.
