Howard J. Hayhurst Jr., 79, of Terre Haute, IN passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at his residence.

He had formerly been employed by Alcan and also as a correctional officer for the State of Indiana. He was born April 8, 1935 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Howard J. Hayhurst Sr. and Grace Brokaw Hayhurst.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; two sons, Howard J. (Jona) Hayhurst III and John (Patricia) Hayhurst both of Terre Haute, IN; a daughter, Rebekah (Tracy) Page of Florida; a sister, Rebecca Williams of Terre Haute, IN; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Hayhurst. He was a 1953 graduate of Garfield High School and served this nation in the US Marine Corps.
