Jack L. Hollingsworth, 68, of Martinsville, IL passed away 12:45 PM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. He was retired from Conrail after 22 years of service. He was born Feb. 7, 1944 at Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of John Hollingsworth and Edith Craig Hollingsworth. Surviving are his wife, who he had been with for 47 years, Carolyn Kosko Hollingsworth; three daughters, Tina Veach and Cheryl (Denny) Sanders both of Martinsville, IL and Sandy Turner of Marshall, IL; a brother, John (Dru) Hollingsworth of Mt. Zion, IL; a sister-in-law, Sherry Hollingsworth of Newton, IL; grandchildren, Travis (Fianc̩e' - Patti Downey) Hollingsworth, Tanner (Lindsey) Glidewell, Taylor Hollingsworth, Amber (Tony) Baird, Christina (Philip) Higginbotham, D.J. Sanders, Cole Turner, Cody Turner and Kyle Turner; great grandchildren, Ryland Baird, Emmalyn Baird, Jacksyn Baird, Allie Higginbotham and Jack W. Hollingsworth; nieces and nephew, Lori Bucci, Lisa Galloway, Jay Hollingsworth and Cindy Craig and his dog, Missy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry (Buck) Hollingsworth; a half brother, Lloyd Craig and a half sister, Rosie Hardway. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Martinsville and Martinsville American Legion Post #515. He was a graduate of Martinsville High School. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a veteran of the US Army. Services in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church at Martinsville with Bro. Art Orndorff officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery, rural Martinsville with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post #515 in honor of his service to this nation. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at the church. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Jack L. Hollingsworth Memorial Fund.
