Janice Lewis Marsh, 89, of Marshall, IL passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in Westminister Village at Terre Haute, IN. Janice was born Dec. 27, 1936 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of John W. Lewis Jr. and Mahala Forsythe Lewis who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Marsh; a brother-in-law, Ray G. Ingram and her ex-husband, Richard Marsh. Surviving are a daughter, Janice Lynn Marsh of Casey, IL; a granddaughter, Shelby Marsh of Houston, TX; a daughter-in-law, Jamie Marsh of Houston, Texas; a sister, Joan Lewis Ingram of Terre Haute, IN; a niece, Sally Whitehurst and her husband, Tom of Terre Haute, IN; several cousins, including Gerald Forsythe and his wife Jean who have done so much for her over the years and her special caregiver of many years, Ruby Floyd of Paris, IL. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. Following graduation from high school, she attended Eastern IL University where she receive0d her Master’s Degree in Library Science. Years later she attended Indiana State University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree from the School of Nursing. In her earlier years she had been employed at Roots, L.S. Ayers and Macey’s Department Stores. She retired as a registered nurse at the Harsha Behavioral Center at Terre Haute, IN. Janice was a member of the Marshall Congregational Church. She was a member of the Daughter ‘s of 1812 and the Evening Thyme Garden Club in Marshall. Services in honor of her life will be 10:00 AM (Central Time) Tuesday, July 14th at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be one-hour prior services.
