Jerry Wayne Gosnell, 77, of Marshall, IL passed away 8:25 AM Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home.
He was retired from the Paris Beacon where he was a typesetter. He began working for the Beacon News at age 8. He was born Jan. 13, 1938 at Sullivan, IL, the son of Roscoe Lee Gosnell and Grace Nichols Gosnell. He married Beverly Ewing on May 17, 1958 at Paris, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly; his children, Bradley Gosnell of Paris, IL, Barry Gosnell of Indianapolis, IN, Becky Gosnell of Paris, IL and Bart (Cindy) Gosnell of Eldorado, Arkansas; grandchildren, Donna Gosnell, Jennifer (Brandon) Shannon, Justin Gosnell, Austin Gosnell, Adam (Rebecca) Gosnell, Ryan Gosnell, Amber Gosnell and Beth Gosnell; sisters, Bea M. (Arthur Lee) Camp of Paris, IL, Gladys Elledge of Crawfordsville, IN, Zola Mink of Terre Haute, IN, Carolyn Boes of Oakland, IL, Ina (Tim) Messenger of Florida and Bernita Moore of Paris, IL; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Ray, Gene and Archie and a sister, Rosella Wilson.
He was a graduate of Paris High School and had also coached in the Paris Little League Baseball Program for several years.
Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Otterbein United Methodist Church at Paris, IL with Rev. Jeff Stahl, Rev. Theodore Snyder and Rev. Adam Gosnell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paris Little League Baseball Program. It was the desire of Mr. Gosnell to donate his remains to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. Arrangements and care have been entrusted to Pearce Funeral Home of Marshall.
