Jonathan Kiel Heine, 40, of Marshall, IL passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home.

He was born Dec. 4, 1975 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Rex and Betty Legan Heine. Surviving are his parents of Marshall; a daughter, Ceysa Lucinne Heine of Terre Haute, IN; his siblings, Joel Heine of Marshall, Jacob (Katie) Heine of Virginia Beach, VA and Robert Moore of Denver, CO; a nephew, Donovan of Virginia Beach, VA and a niece, Amelia Heine of Virginia Beach, VA. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chester and Hazel Quick Legan and his paternal grandparents, Adolf and Mary Ufer Heine.

Jon was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Casey, IL, the Marshall City Band, and the Brazil Concert Band and had attended Marshall High School and Terre Haute South High School. He played the clarinet in marching bands and symphonic orchestras. He was an avid reader and was writing a book and very interested in science which was the subject of his book.

Memorial mass will be celebrated 5:30 PM Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at Casey, IL. Visitation will be 4:30 PM until mass time Wednesday at the church.
