Judith Ann McConchie, 83. of Marshall, IL passed away 3:56 AM Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. She was born Dec. 4, 1939 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Ray and Vera Evans Kannmacher. On Sept. 16, 1961 she married Dale McConchie who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1996. Surviving are a son, Tim (Hannah) McConchie of Marshall, IL; two daughters, Kris (Barry) Aves of Kirkland, IL, and Amy (Mike) Riehle of LaPorte, IN; grandchildren, Kelly Aves, Peyton Riehle, Shelby Riehle, Regan McConchie and Tayden McConchie; her twin sister, Linda (Ken) Bradock of Mendhan, NJ; her sister, Karen Kannmacher of Santa Monica, CA; her sister-in-law, Elaine (Art ) Miller of Marshall, IL, her two nieces, one nephew, and several cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and served on many other committees. Following her graduation from Marshall High School in 1957, she continued her education at the University of Illinois and graduated with a degree in Commercial Teaching in 1961, receiving the prestigious Bronze Tablet award. She later attended Indiana State University where she received her Master’s Degree in Business Education in 1968. She taught business at Marshall High School for one year and later owned and operated a printing company in Terre Haute, IN named Impressions, Inc. with her husband Dale. Judy served on the Marshall School Board where she became President and in 1991 and was honored by being selected as the first recipient of the Thomas Lay Burroughs Award for Outstanding School Board President in the state of Illinois. She also served on the Burnsides Nursing Home Board of Directors and was member of the Marshall Service League, Marshall Tree Commission, and Garden Club. Judy was a mentor and sponsor to local and international youth through her participation with M.A.Y.N., Children International, and Cunningham Children’s Home. Judy had been honored with the Dianna Award and Marshall Pride Award. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18th at Pearce Funeral Home. Services in honor of her life will be 2:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 19th at the First United Methodist Church in Marshall with Pastor Bill Wiggs officiating.
