Karen Sue Kemp Guillemette, 67, of Martinsville, IL passed away8:08 AM Thursday, June 9, 2016 in the emergency room of Union Hospital at Terre Haute.

She was born Dec. 26, 1948 at Paris, IL, the daughter of Joe H. Kemp and Ruth L. Gard Kemp. She married Michael L. Guillemette on May 6, 1978 at Marshall.

Sue is survived by her husband, Mike; a son, Joe (Catherine Leah) Guillemette of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Catherine Guillemette, William Guillemette and Michael Guillemette; a sister, Mary (Tom) Fink of Batavia, IL and a niece, Catherine Fink. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved nephew, Robert Fink.

She was a member of the Brick United Methodist Church at West Union, member and Past Matron of the Walter Burdick Chapter of the DAR and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 1967 graduate of Marshall High School and received an Associate Degree in Interior Decorating.

An avid quilter, she was a charter member and Past President of the National Road Quilt Guild. She also loved to sew and embroider.

Service in honor of her life will be 1:00 PM Monday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Pastors Judy Williams and Bob Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Cemetery, rural West Union. Visitation will be 1-5 PM Sunday and prior services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made the Pediatric Oncology Division of St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
