Laymon Guy “Jay” Davison, 88, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:42 AM Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 in Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing in Marshall. He was a retired farmer. He was born Feb. 14, 1934 in Melrose Twp. of Clark Co., IL, the son of Vernon and Mary Lucille Jackson Davison. On July 28, 1957, he married Sharon Parcel at the Melrose Church of God. Surviving are his wife, Sharon; a son, Scotty (Carolyn) Davison of Annapolis, IL; a daughter, Lynita Decker of Marshall, IL; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Davison of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Matthew (Jodi) Davison, Michelle (Brad) Meese, Sara Decker and Brittney (Dalton) Perry; great grandchildren, Kaylynn Davison, Carter Davison, Lucas Davison, Gavin Meese, Jackson Meese and Lauren Meese; step grandchildren, Craig (Sarah) Martin, Bridget Martin and Bonnie (Jake) Daugherty; several step great grandchildren; a sister, Leda Crumrin of West Union, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Davison and siblings, Geneva Crumrin, Bernard Davison and Lucille Wernz. Laymon was a member and elder at the Melrose Church of God and had served as a precinct committeeman for the Republican Party for many years. He was a graduate of Hutsonville High School a member of the AMVETS and the Antique Power Tractor Club. For many years he served as a trustee of the Ohio Cemetery Association. Jay honorably served this nation in the US Army during the Korean War. Services in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, rural West Union with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
