Lloyd D. Weir, 81, of Marshall, IL, formerly of Martinsville and Greenup, Illinois passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing. He was a welder by trade and had formerly been employed by Caterpillar and had worked with other area contractors. He was born Oct. 15, 1938 at Martinsville, IL, the son of Dennis and Helen Carpenter Weir. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann (John) Twigg of Universal, IN; grandchildren, Seth (Rosie) Twigg of San Diego, CA, Miranda (Chris) Ellis of Marshall and Brinkley Meiring of Universal, IN; great grandchildren, Dana Clasby, Audrey Clasby, Curtis Ellis, Gwenavyre Twigg, Marian Twigg, Dezirae Meiring and Gage Meiring; a great great grandchild, Ariel Craig; his twin sister, Lois Daughtrey of Marshall; sisters, Ruby St. John of West Union, IL and Carolyn Wallace of Casey, IL; brothers, Milton Dwayne Weir of Annapolis, IL and Gerald “Buddy” Weir of Oswego, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Stanley Weir. He served this nation is the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Public military graveside rites will be held later in St. Paul’s Cemetery, rural Clark Co., IL.
