Luther Harold Morris, Jr., 65, of West Union, IL passed away 7:15 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in St. Francis Hospital at Indianapolis, IN.

He worked and retired from Conrail/CSX Railroad from 1972 to 2011 and had been a Clark Co., IL farmer for many years.

He was born Feb. 13, 1951 at Paris, IL, the son of Luther Harold and Frances Newport Morris Sr. He married Leanna Pellum on Jan. 2, 1970.

Surviving are his wife, Leanna; two sons, Robert Allen (Dee Dee) Morris and James Luther (Tresa) Morris both of Marshall; grandchildren, Alyse Morris, Nicholas Morris, Hannah Morris, Rachel Morris, Luke Morris and Frankie Morris; a step grandchild, Emily Humphrey and two sisters, Patsy Hughes of Marshall and Peggy Lichtenberger of West Union.

Luke served this nation in the US Army National Guard at Terre Haute, IN from 1971 to 1977. He was a 1969 graduate of Marshall High School. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who were the highlight of his life. He also enjoyed farming and spending time with railroad friends.

Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastors Melly Momo and Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday and after 7:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society.
