Madelyn L. Hicks, 89, of Dennison, IL passed away 5:24 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in Regional Hospital at Terre Haute, IN.

She was a retired administrator of the Clark Co., IL Dept. of Human Services at Marsahll, IL. She was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Elbridge Twp., Edgar Co., IL, the daughter of James Elmer Breneman and Elizabeth Lavina Grubb Breneman. She married Bernard Hicks on Sept. 11, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1994.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth McConchie of Marshall, IL and Nancy Hicks of Portland, OR and two grandsons, Connor McConchie and Wyatt McConchie. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Madelyn was a member of the Patton United Methodist Church. She had served on the Elbridge Twp. Cemetery Board, had served as a trustee for Elbridge Twp., served on the board of the Chester P. Sutton Sr. Center at Paris and had volunteered at Crestwood school. She served this country during WW II in the Women's Army Corps.
