Marcella Alberta Deisher, 81, also known as Gracie a nickname selected by her beloved grandmother Mamie Troxel, of Marshall, IL passed away at 1:50 PM Thursday July 27, 2023 at Paris Community Hospital. She was born on August 30, 1941 to Richard and Maxine (Troxel) Tharp and raised in Darwin, IL. After returning to Marshall in 1976 she began a long career in insurance working for Frank Pearce, Shore-Parker, Howard Clare and Sycamore Insurance. She married her first husband George Taylor JR, father of her children Lisa, Angie, and Kristi. She later married Ronald Deisher in 1985 in an outdoor ceremony at their home in Darwin, IL. She is survived by her husband Ron of Marshall, IL., Three daughters Lisa (Scott Plummer) Dashiell of Marshall, IL, Angie (Brad) Adams of Paris, IL; and Kristi (John) Whitacre of Marshall, IL. Step Children Ronald (Bethany) Deisher JR of Darwin, IL, and Donald (Rebecca) Deisher of West Union, IL. Grandchildren Taylor (Levi) Dashiell, Maycee Roshel and Gracie Adams. Step grandchildren Ronald (Daria) Deisher III, Marci (Nick) Ruhane, Nathan Deisher, Nicole (Anthony) Richards, Heather Deisher, Jacob Deisher, Joshua Deisher, David (Chin-Chin Ocampo) Deisher, Jenny (Donny de la Rosa) Deisher, Samantha (Shay Spears) Smiley, Katie (Cody Ellshoff) Deisher, Cassandra (Chris Schwass) Deisher, and Jesse Deisher. And 9 Great Grand children. Two Brothers Gary Tharp of Marshall, IL and Rusty Tharp of Effingham, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Rhonda Parker, and one Brother Larry Tharp. She was a 1959 graduate of Marshall High School, avid collector of depression glass- turned into Gracies antiques in downtown Marshall. She loved to travel with Ron and play in casinos. Ron took her all over the United States. They visited San Diego, Las Vegas, Mississippi, Florida, and loved exploring Illinois – visiting and researching family history sites and cemeteries, Gracie also loved to read and collect cookbooks, try new recipes, collect hallmark ornaments, wear beautiful jewelry and clothing shop. But most of all she loved her family. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday July 30 at the Pearce Funeral Home with Rev John Cross Officiating, Burial will follow in the Darwin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at the Funeral Home. In Lieu of Flowers family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Darwin Cemetery.
